There are two simple solutions for increasing your Adsense
income:
Solution 1 - Get more traffic to
your website
Solution 2 - Improve your response
rate
(i.e. get more of your existing visitors to respond
to your adverts)
Increasing traffic is usually a difficult and expensive
job. After all, most webmasters are already getting as much
traffic as they possibly can.
However increasing your response rate can be as simple as
making a minor change to your web pages.
Examples of changes that can improve response are...
Using different styles and
positions for your ad units
Using different header graphics on
your pages
Placing different images in
different positions on your pages
Using different colors and/or fonts
Using different headline text
... and many other small changes to
features of your pages
All of these can significantly alter your response
rates.
Some of these changes may improve the response rate, some
may have no effect and some may actually reduce the response
rate.
Clearly it's very important to know which
changes to make.
However there is really only one way to discover
which changes will improve response...
You need to test the
different options and measure the response to
each.
The traditional way to do this is to try one option for
a day, then try another option the following day to see which
day generates the most income.
Unfortunately website traffic varies enormously from hour
to hour, let alone day to day.
The results are therefore often completely
wrong, requiring tests to be repeated over a
long period - usually weeks or even months - to get
any sort of reliable results.
This is a slow process, involving continual changes
back and forth between the options.
However it isn't just inconvenient - it
is also expensive.
For half your testing period you have a lower performing
option on your site.
For obvious reasons, you want the fastest possible
way to test.
That's where "split testing" comes in.
Split testing automatically splits all your traffic
between your different options on a continual basis.
With split testing, your first visitor would see your first
option, then the next visitor would see the second option,
then the next visitor would see the first option, then the
next would see the second option - and so on.
This automatic "real-time" splitting of traffic is the
key to successful testing, because the results are not
affected by variations in traffic levels.
Split testing is not a new concept. There are many split
tester tools available on the Internet. However split testers
are normally only suited to testing advert links.
You cannot use a conventional split tester
tool to test Adsense sites.
However with our brand new Adsense Split Tester,
you can now easily apply the powerful concept of split testing
to your Adsense sites with minimal effort.
