For example, where there is a squeeze page in front of the sales page, you can use Covert Linking to bypass the squeeze page, sending visitors directly to the sales page.

Why would you want to do this?

The original concept of a squeeze page was as a front-end to a quality follow-up autoresponder sequence - with each of the follow-up emails automatically containing your affiliate ID, to maximize your chances of getting paid.

This is a win-win scenario. The affiliate gets a much higher chance of making a sale, while the product owner gets more subscribers.

Many reputable marketers offering a major product or service do still do this.

However there are a lot of marketers now just throwing up a squeeze page with little or no follow-up - purely to build their own list - with no benefit to their affiliates.

Not only does this mean you giving away subscribers for no benefit - but even worse - all those visitors who decide not to opt in are just lost commissions for you.

A good follow-up email series will more than make up for those losses - but if there isn't a proper follow-up system in place, you're just throwing away money.

If you are promoting an affiliate program and you want to put ads for it on different web pages - or maybe advertise in different ezines - you'll want to know how many clicks come from each ad.

You can do this easily using the Affiliate Commando "sub-campaign feature".

Don't worry about the techie sounding name. A "sub-campaign" is just a name chosen by you, for each ad. You can use any names you want - it's just a way for you to identify the ads.

Just pick a "sub-campaign name" for each ad and then add it to the end of your Affiliate Commando link.

Here's an example - this is your Affiliate Commando link for an ebook:

http://www.mysite.com/info/ebook.htm

Example 1: To add a sub-campaign name of "ad1", you would change this link to:

http://www.mysite.com/info/ebook_ad1.htm

Example 2: To add a sub-campaign name of "bills-ezine", you would change this link to:

http://www.mysite.com/info/ebook_bills-ezine.htm

All you need to do is make this small change to the Affiliate Commando link and then use the resulting link in your advert.

You don't need to "create" these sub-campaigns or let Affiliate Commando know about them in any way. The first time a visitor clicks on one of these links, Affiliate Commando will determine that it's a new sub-campaign name for which there is no record - and will then create a new sub-campaign for it automatically.

Affiliate Commando will then automatically track all these sub-campaigns as part of the "ebook" affiliate link. You can view the number of clicks for each sub-campaign separately - as well as seeing the total number of clicks for the "ebook" link.

2. Track Pay-Per-Click Campaigns On Autopilot

If you use Pay-Per-Click to directly promote affiliate links, Affiliate Commando can tell you exactly what keywords are being used by visitors clicking on your Pay-Per-Click ad.

This is easier than tracking keywords separately through your Pay-Per-Click account and it allows you track sales, so you can see how much money each keyword generates.

In the Pay-Per-Click service (such as Google.com), just enter an Affiliate Commando affiliate link as the URL to send traffic to. That's all you need to do.

The script will then automatically track keywords from the search engine (this works for most search engines, including Google).

Simply go to the Affiliate Commando admin feature at any time and it will show you a detailed summary of what keywords were used to find your site, which search engines they came from (in case you are using more than one Pay-Per-Click search engine) and how many visitors there were for each keyword/search engine combination.
